Hi I apologize for my ignorance, but can a complete novice do anything about what appears water in front headlight, I remember years ago when I had an old Renault van with the same problem I had to have a complete new headlamp, hopefully someone can suggest a cure, many thanks for your attention

charlie, you need to post in general help mate, this is for problems using the forum rather than problems with your car, although i can see where it could cause a bit of confusion. :y

First thing to do is remove the healight nd get it dry (over night in the airing cupboard).
Then you can carefuly remove the lense, start at one corner and ease the clip off and slow pry the two parts apart cutting the mastic as you go.....
Clean the inside of the lense and apply a good sealent before putting it back together.
Dont be tempted to wipe the reflector as the silvering will come off.

thanks for reply, I have looked more closely and it appears to be only drops of water on the front glass. there appear to betwo nuts to undo and a rubber grommet to unhook, is there the same underneath the headlamp? i am worried in case i get the headlamp out and cannot get it back, as you have probably gathered i am not a mechanic....

3 nuts I think. One underneath the lamp, and one on either side(if I remember correctly). You need an extention arm to get to the one underneath. Gently pry of the cover under the headlamp, and you will se the nut :y
