I have recently developed an air leak in my fuel system which, when the car is parked facing up hill, must create an air pocket and stops the car from firing up >:(
This only started after I had a crank sensor fitted and I'm wondering if something in that area could have been knocked / disturbed to cause this?
I have lived with this for two weeks by parking the car facing down hill but last night I parked it on my drive which has a very slight slope going down from left to right across the car and this morning it won't start again ::)
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to check as the garage where I had the sensor fitted said it could take them hours and cost me loads in replacement parts before they find it so I would like to check as much as possible myself first.
I have tried searching the forum a few time's since I joined but have yet to have a result come back for any of the topics searched for :question

plant your foot down on the accelerater and turn her over a few timesthis should clear the air it happenns to me about twice a year

The two favourites are the injector seals and the bleed off pipes.
All cheap and easy enough to change.

Thanks for the replys both, I have just been out with some easy start and just had a quick look over the pipes etc and noticed that a connector was hanging loose. I re-connected this but she still didn't start :-/ It was from the round black unit below and to the left of the turbo is this the fuel pump?
I am hoping that it didn't start after I re-connected due to the fact that I had used all of the fuel in my previous attempts and created an air lock?
There are 3 connectors on the top of this unit and it was the one at the back that was hanging loose. I have put it back and have parked the car in the same position so we will see what happens in the morning ::)
If I am still having problems are there any "How to's" for the injector seals and bleed off pipes?

OK she's still not starting can anyone point me in the right direction for checking the bleed pipes please?
Are the injector seals washers?

Bleed off pipes are under the plastic tray bit on the passenger side (easy to see once the plastic plate on the cam cover is removed)
And yes, the injector seals are just that!

You have got enough fuel in it haven't you!?! i.e. it's not all draining to the back of the tank?

Yes I've filled the car right up and it's still the same. No problem at all if parked facing down hill :-/

Might also be worth lifting the panel in the boot floor and checking the fuel lines as they emerge from the tank. These have been known to rust on petrol models and I guess if there's a pin hole in there it could draw air which will play havoc with the injection system. :-/
