Title: Crank Sensor??
Post by: star_whites on 27 March 2008, 21:11:47
Ive had a recent thread about my 2.0 bringing on the eml and not wanting to start, however these problems are very intermitent.

The eml says the crank sensor is faulty, however when it happens it basically sounds like the starter motor is stuck and is not freeing itself. After a while of keeping the key turned and it pushing the starter in/out it fires and dies. After 3/4 times of doing this the imobiliser turns off and it fires straight away and the eml light goes off.

Do you think this is a crank sensor, immobiliser or starter motor problem??????

Anyone heard of one doing this before??

Does it make a clicking noise when you turn the key?

It makes a clicking and wiring noise as if the starter is spinning but not engaging

Well, I know that a clicking noise can be an indication of the starter. I had a starter that went bad, all I could hear was this clicking noise when I turned the key. I fitted a new starter and everthing was fine again.

So, I'll guess at least one of your problems is the starter :y
