Hi,
is the system supposed to prime on stage2 ignition? having starting problems and its not the glow plugs, tank is also half full of diesel,
recently changed fuel filter in case it was that, not 100% on bleeding the system as i though there would be fuel pressure with ignition.
i have limited knowlege on this engine. please help
thanks

From memory, the lift pump operates on cranking.
Poor starting - if you are able to do a paperclip test (some TDs do, some dont) check for a 64. Usually shows glow problems as well.

Also check the bleed off pipes

Also check the bleed off pipes
thanks for reply, those are fine, i'll do paperclip test tomorrow see if that shows up anything
what is the correct way to bleed the system after filter change?

should self bleed. If its missing, loosen fuel rail to each injector with engine running until you get a fuel fountain...

Hi fella,
Where are you located in Wales?
I run one of these, and may be able to assist.
Send me a 'PM' and I'll check when I'm back on-line later this evening.

cheers for replies. found the problem....
its the injector seals, whats happening is when parked the air is getting in past the seals therefore allowing fuel to drain back to the tank, if we now park it facing downhill for now it starts on the button,
should have it sorted next week :)

Are the seals in the injectors, if so, do you have to replace injector?
