Title: No alarm sounding

Hello all Ive just aquired a Omega and was wondering if anyone new of the reason why thee alarm does not sound ,it seems to be working as in the ultra sonics are picking up movement when i test it ie putting my arm through a open window the hazards will flash but no sound .
The car is a X reg 2.5i V6 CDX petrol auto.
