Title: 2.2 warm up time
Post by: tunnie on 08 April 2008, 08:05:16
question for 2.2 owners.... how long does it take yours to get to 80/85 on the temp gauge?

Wondering if mine is too slow and needs a new themostat.

It was in the garage last night, but damn cold this morning, but its always roughly the same, about 6 mins to get to 75 degrees, 7 mins and its at 85 degrees.

First 4/5 mins are just 20/30mph until i get out of town, soon as i speed up to 60ish it warms up quicker.

I never rev it above 3k, until up to temp.

break me, thats crap then. even my tractor with its enormous water jacket heats up within a mile and a half.  v6, quicker, and the rover, a few hundred yards.

Yep sounds about right tunnie.......

You'd know if thermostat was stuck open......mine now and then sticks open or isnt fully closing.......temp drops sometimes when on a run .....50/60 ish mph and it will drop to 70-75C.
