Title: OVER REVVING
Post by: opelsr on 12 April 2008, 23:45:32
hi i have an intermittent problem 2.5 v6  /r reg , Evey so often the revs pick up on their own upto about 2500/3000 then it will sit at that for a few minutes then drop back down to normal if the car is standing.  If i am driving it it sometimes cuts out altogether when the revs drop  .It will start again after it has done this.I  am going to do paperclip test tommorow, but a few pointers in the right direction would be great .

it is a silver canister type thing beside the oil filler,it plugs into the side of the plenum.clean it with carb cleaner (wynns is very good) then lubricate with light oil-wd40 or similar.
