Sounds like oil cooler leaking to me as well, you have to take it out to inspect it, but with those symptoms you describe it is oil cooler. :(

oil in the water = oil cooler, if the header tank is full of brown goo, its the oil cooler.

If you have water in the oil &  on the dip stick, that suggests HG.

HG failure is rare on the V6.

Oil cooler.

And don't use it until you've fixed it - you're cloging all the waterways with that sludge which will bite you later.  It also softens the rubber pipes/seals.

its the water you need to flush.

flush it about 20 times before us, then twice daily for about 2 or 3 weeks, then daily until no more oil.

Basicilly you have to breakdown the oil in the cooling system which needs a detergent. forte system flush can be used sveral times.  Prsonally used a low foam washing liquid and drove 15/20 miles then flushed it out again, repeat until the system is clear and you have got all the detergent out fll the system with 50/50 mix of vx red coolant which is about 4.5ltrs. :y

Traffic Film remover is good at the cleaning job and is a low cost option compared with the Forte stuff ;)
