Title: Windscreen Replacement
Post by: Entwood on 13 April 2008, 18:47:02
Hi, back from the long weekend, lots of things to get done, but a quick question if I may .....

There have been several threads recently regarding windscreen replacement by RAC that went "wrong" :(

The miggy is off to "Autoglass" tomorow for a new screen due to damage this afternoon that is not repairable.

Any tips, hints, advice I should arm myself with beforehand please ???

I'll be back on in a couple of hours.. just sticking this up early for maximum exposure   :)

Regards to all

:)

Before you accept the car back, check the vision of glass from sideways ( from lower angles) and outside for the quality of glass and if possible pour down a big bucket of water to test leakage..( I know its funny but its possible to leak inside)

and warn them not to scratch the car near the windows..

just check the rubber seal around the windscreen as the new ones  they fit are often smaller in width and can look crap.
