Ive fought long and hard with this bloody dispack...now refitting everything and i have a spare cable...it has no markings, its not a breather, its not a coolant pipe and is quite hard plastic.
There no sign of any form of liquid from it and following as much as i can it goes straight down the back of the engine...i cant see this pipe on my other omegas :'(
where have i dragged it up from ?

i should say it was also cable tied to the "y" breathers....

Thats where it should be.....
Its normaly cable tied to the main breather pipe from the engine.

Nothing, thats how it should be :y

Nothing. It should be open to the atmosphere. It's brought up that high just to prevent fluid getting thrown up it.

Nothing, it vents to atmosphere.
Its not like an engine setup where blow by gases are produced, it simply to stops the gearbox pressurising as the oil etc heats up.
Hence why its cable ties some height above the gearbox, normal practice is to bring it up and bend it over (without kinking it) so the open end faces the floor to stop water getting in.

i was worried like break when i found it laying there. didnt know what i did wrong, panicing over nothing ;D ;D ;D

Yup, as other said, looks just like gearbox breather, and vents to open air. Normally cabletied up

thanks guys :-[
Its just dawned on me all my previou dispack changes have been on manuals - probably why its never been seen..
And ive have one hell of a fight to physically get this dispack out - i would swear the gap on facelifts is fractionally less than prefacelifts to get the pack in and out...

I used to do things like that; then I discovered the digital camera....I snap the area of any job before (and often during) a strip-down/repair so that I can refer to those pics. if I get stuck during the rebuild. :y

Good idea Dr. Debs :y :y
