Title: Am I Missing Something (pics)

OK so I got a bit trigger happy with the camera phone...  ;)

Noticed this bolthole underneath the passenger side cam cover when I was cleaning up. I seem to recall someone saying to me that it was supposed to be free of any screw or bolt but thought I'd post here to double check. Should it be free?

Also, you can see the smaller (filthy oil covered) star shaped bolt to the right, are these supposed to be present all the way along as I noticed that the next one down towards the front of the car is missing and an empty hole is there instead. Thanks again...

The filthy bolt is on the exhaust heat shield......and yes they should all be there.

The empty bolt hole in the pic is a mounting point used when the engine is fitted in a front wheel drive application so should be empty.
