i did the front crank seal, done the cam cover gaskets, checked the oil cooler plate and pipes and all dry,but have an oil leak on the passenger side of the engine, only when its running,so i was maybe thinking leaking head gasket, anyone tell me anything different
-
Would leak water not oil...
-
but theres an oil way at the corner of the head, the car had been overfilled with oil wen i bought it,so i thought maybe too much pressure an just enough to let it leak a little

Thats the water jacket i think....
When you did the cam cover gaskets did you use:
BLACK Sealant
Vx/GM gasket, not pattern?
What value did you torque the cam covers too.
Did you check for possible warped cam covers?
-
too much pressure would do the cam cover gaskets.did you use genuine gaskets/the correct sealant/and tighten the m down correctly.i would suspect they are still leaking :-/........ ;Dtunnie types faster than me
-
checked the bottom end i have here with the heads off an looks like an oilway as well,i could be wrong, didnt use sealer on the gaskets but checked them an were dry, tightened them correctly,an dont think theyre warped
-
Thought we had been here before?? But was going to say gaskets still leaking...overtightened bolts...not used genuine parts, not cleared the breathers/properly...all will just cause them to leak again...
-
cam covers were dry, leak coming from lower down

There is you leak then.... you must use black sealant.

Ahh.
It could be ATF, is it leaking around the bellhousing to the gearbox to engine?
Suspect its a gearbox ATF leak, have you checked the level?
-
yes but i dont think it is atf as we have to top up the engine oil twice a week

How much is it using?
Any blue smoke out of the exhaust?
Any oil in water?
Or water in the oil?
-
if i fill it up to the mark on a sunday,on a wed morning we have to put about a liter in it again no smoke an no oil in water or water in oil

Only other thing back there that could cause that sort of leak is the oil pump :-/
-
nope oil pump is at the front, crank goes thru it
