Title: Car phone
Post by: prestigesec on 25 April 2008, 17:58:55
Whats the best way to have hands free in the car? I cant wear the ear phone as it cracks me up and kills after a while ( must have funny shaped ears ) Would the factory head unit think its a cctr800 or something? Would that go straight in and work if i could find one? Really need to sort something out as getting 3 points for being on your phone would not be good. Thanks in advance.

Somehow i thought it was just wishfull thinking on my half that it would just go straight in, whats the main problem? Is it an external antenna for signal?

I have a Sony bluetooth kit installed and it works a treat.  There is even a wire loom ready for use above the passenger glove box.  The kit cosy £58 new and delivered.

Cheers

It's taped above the glovebox and a real pain to get at. Had to take the govebox out on mine to get to it.

That's what I've got. I bought the car with a Nokia 6310 cradle in it, so I eventually realised the cheapest and best option was to go out and buy a 6310 to fit the car rather than bugger about.

Perfect solution now with one exception: If someone calls me my colour SatNav screen switches to "External Audio Source" and stops me from seeing the map and hearing the instructions. It's a right PITA if someone calls just in the last 15 minutes of an unknown journey through an unfamiliar town or city.

As it was when I bought it.

errr, that cradle is an MBC15S, highly likely to be connected to a CK-7W or CK-126 , are you sure you haven't got a 6230 or 6230i?

Carkit for the 6310 plus many others is actually the CK-91

The blanking of the CID annoys me as well, why can't it leave the map on like it does when you are using the radio or CD?  :(
