Once upon a time a young boy of 19 decided that an insurance premium of £1500 TPFT was a bargain when it meant he could drive a 3 litre rear drive car and promptly went off to buy the first MV6 that had all the trimmings that he could find....
Some time later, a 20 year old man wished he had looked the car over in more detail first.
Soon after buying the car I noticed that the steering would pull to the left quite a lot. At my MOT I was advise that there was excessive play in my steering and my near side track rod end got replaced for me. A few thousand miles later I noticed that both my front tyres were completely bald.
I had them replaced in a hurry and got the company to do my tracking too.
4000 miles later the 2 new front tyres were both equally nackered. but on the outside edge only. which was really really irritating becuase there was 7mm of good tread on one side of the tyres and 1mm of treat on the outside grrr.
I have now had new tyres fitted to the front AGAIN and have been to several garages for advise. My tyre shop say do the camber, the garage who do camber say I need a steering idler kit, my vauxhall parts specialists say they dont know what an idler kit is but they sell 30 to 40 omega steering arms a month so maybe I should replace that.
That is my story so far. Anyone care to help me write the conclusion?
Cheers!!

update your profile kid so we know were you are ! then get yourself down to wheels in motion and see tony !! welcome to oof by the way :y

a company called wheels in motion would be the answer to your problems.many people attempt to set these cars up properly but it would seem that few succeed.there is plenty of info on forum threads about w.i.m. depends whereabouts you are though. :y...edit; great minds mark ;)

Agreed. Take it to wheels in motion. Problem isn't tracking but more likely camber at the front. In any case, it's not as easy to get right as most trye places think so I would only entrust Omega alignment work to WIM. Mention you're from OOF for a discount. :y

Try http://wheels-inmotion.co.uk as suggested - they know Omegas, and can cure the tyre wear.
And Omegas do not need camber kits - the camber is adjustable, so don't use anyone who says they do.
