Hello all,
I have recently bought my Omega and i am having trouble with the Remote central locking. The problem being that it will not work. The key unlocks all the doors with the exception of the passenger door, when used in the lock, but does nothing on the remote. I have changed the car battery when i got the car and wonder if this has scrambled something ? I have also changed the battery in the key fob to see if it was that, but with no luck.

After discontecting the main car battery it could be that you need to resychranize your key with the car.
With the key in the ignition and it on press either the unlock or lock button for a few seconds. This should do the trick.
If this does not work one of your micro switches may have failed; if so refer to the topic 'Keys' on this site under this section 'General Help' PAGE 5 as of this time (PS I will advance it to this page for you). :y

Have tried that but still no joy ! I have looked at the other info in 'keys', but not sure where micoswitches are. Are they located in the door panels ? as the passenger door lock does not fully unlock.

No the micro switches I was referring to are in the key fob, behind/underneath the battery housing and card facing the rubber press buttons.
Be carefull in attempting to remove the card, which can be levered out from one side only, with the other 'locked' in under two tabs, as it is all too easy to damage battery housing mountings/connections.
In anycase the micro switches are not servicable (they do become life expired) and can only be replaced. This then is either a repair by a specialist or a complete new key, for which I was quoted £100+. :'(

if its the same as mine, there is a little led that lights up when the buttons are pressed. I found mine was intermittent and upon further investigation found the battery holder connections to the PCB inside the fob snapped off. A little bit of ingenuity and some udp cable and voila one repaire and fully fuunctioning key fob. Hope this helps

Just don't drop it with your car fully locked and immobilized :'(! If your repair breaks down you could find yourself locked out as I was recently :'( and had to rely on the AA to sort me out! :y
Going to renew/ refurbish all my fobs now; won't, hopefully, get stung twice! :y

I have taken the fob apart (carefully) and re soldered the micro switches and checked the battery connections. The LED's light up each time the microswitches are pressed, so is this an indication that they are working OK ? Then tried the resync thing, but still no luck i am afraid !
The passenger door lock still does not fully unlock, so do you think that this could be throwing something out ?

Do the micro switches feel as though they are depressing, or seem solid? :-?

Pasdsenger door - fubar motor.
Does it lock/unlock with key in door ok, without excessive force?

No the key does not lock/unlock the passenger door, but no excessive force is needed to open it manually ?

If they don't seem to 'click' then they are not working; they should feel as though they are depressing when pressed (if that makes sense!) :y
