What are the best ways to make power on the X25XE? Have many tales of the LSx or 1UZ Toyota V8 engine swaps been circulated to any of you?
I suppose what I'm aiming for is something capable of chasing down an E34 M5 touring but with a bit more discretion and subtlety.
At the moment, I'm thinking a couple of turbochargers, or a Roots blower may be the wisest choice - but I'm interested to know what you guys have done and/or heard of.
Thanks in advance.

this is the only one ive done but it wiped the floor with most things on the road!!http://showoffyourcar.com/galleries.asp?carid=1897

You must have long thin hands to be able to work on that!
And deep pockets to feed it, looks thirsty!

My GOD! It fits!? Did you have to redo the bulkhead or tunnel, or just the mounts?
Did you take the whole drive train or just the engine?

Fit in a Lotus Carlton engine, already has 2 turbos fitted ;)

He put the full running gear in

seem to recall the tunnel needed a mod (might not be if the Omega is an auto model?), and a new wiper setup (no room for motor)

I'd suspected as much - I'm a Norfolk boy so I'd me over the moon with Lotus Carlton gizzard swap but I suspect for much less money I could nail together a CSB - though obviously that's got nowhere near as much cachet as opening the bonnet to that monster...
The second I saw the manifolds, however, I'd made my mind up: twin turbo V6 - it's going to have to be. Cheap and chirpy!
If anyone can help me by letting me know where I can find an exploded diagram for the whole Exhaust system, we can get this show on the road!
Many tas.

I remember hearing that the V6 has cooling weaknesses which become apparent above 250 BHP ish.
In addition, it's quite high compression as standard so to run any worthwhile boost it would need to be rebuilt with lowered compression. Packaging twin turbos under the bonnet could also be a challenge but where there's a will....

Power - start with X30XE, easy to fit

Everything went in mate had to weld new engine mounts to subframe and mounts for oil coolers, and for charge coler and rad as the lc one is a lot bigger as said slight tinbashing on the tunel bout 2 mins worth, everything else went in reasonably ok but the wiring between the 2 different cars was a freaking nitemare to get it anywhere near right!!AND if ever i did another would weld up all the crumple zones first!!! cos the body isnt very strong with all the bits cut out!!

I Bloody Love It.
380 BHP and a GLS Badge.
Imagine the grin on the guys face at the lights taking on an Omega GLS.
Then imagine the guys face at the next lights when the GLS is sat there waiting for round 2

best one was the brand new M5 who was flat out on the limiter at 155 and we just cruised past at around 160 he was screaming at us!!!! :y

Agreed Kevin..
The last 2 Cylinders have cooling problem..Water channel size must be increased..Oil cooler definitely must be out..And need a steel crank..
And compression ratio is another question..

V6 also has dairy milk con rods especially the X30XE
you can get an x25xe upto about 220bhp quite easily
3.0 Cams will make it 192bhp
ECU chip 200 bhp
ported throttle body 210bhp
Pipercross panel filter 214bhp
3 pipe modded airbox 218bhp

Are there any performance exhaust systems that would make a difference.?
