hi people just a quick q how many miles are people geting from say 10 or 20 pound of petrol or a full tank? also is it only the 2.5 that has 2 cat converters or have i been told fibs? :)

£20 of fuel down south might not be the same amount in litres as £20 up north!

2.5, 3.0, 3.2 all have 2 cats ;)
I get abot 22mpg on an average run from my 2.5 auto and 30mpg on a motorway run. :-/

I get 18/22 mpg localy and 33 on a good run. Mine is a 2.5 V6 and as far as I am aware all V6 Omega's have 2 Cat.s. One for each cyclinder bank.

£20 72/88 miles locally, or 120 miles on a run

ok so are the cats in line or how dose the exhaust run under the car? :)

V6s have 2 main cats (2.6 and 3.2 also have 2 precats).
I get 24mpg from 3.0l auto and 38mpg from 2.5td, both from fuel computer readings.... ....I know when I checked the MV6 a couple of years ago, it was bang on. Both significantly better on motorway runs.

Never put just £10 in my 3.2. It would be gone before I got out of the petrol station :-)
Between 18 and 22mpg, I did achieve 33mpg on my way up to TB but that was 55 to 60mph, dropped to a more respectable 24mpg on the way home.

24 mpg around town, 32 mpg at 75/80 mph motorway, on a 2.5 petrol auto Elite, a lead foot can reduce these figures by a least 30%, ie light foot better mpg less cost.

My journeys are predominantly around the 18 mile mark as a minimum but...
MID shows average of 24mpg (ish) over the last tank and I get deep into the 30's on a run (if I can keep my foot off the loud pedal a bit!)

Got me thinking will it soon be more economical to run a petrol or diesel Omega, given the now higher cost of diesel 10p more in my area and increasing by the week.

The only reliable way is to fill it up and drive it empty and to fill it up again.
