As the title says. Thought i'd have a go at changing the drop links "oh what a bugger of a job to remove" when i noticed unusual tyre wear to the inside tread (off side of vehicle) where the tread is ok for most of the way around then goes to nothing. i think this may have something to do with the vibration i get under speed? so people why has my tyre worn like this? dont want to put on a new one just to go the same way...
Cheers......

Buckley tyre alignment centre have the equipment to sort this....
The are reluctant to go further than 'in the green' though which isnt really enough.
Quite cheap though, about £45 for full allignment iirc
-
So are you saying my "odd" tyre wear is due to an alignment?
-
Certainly where I would start looking.
At least get it on the ramps down at buckley and see if it its anywhere near where it should be ;)
-
could i be looking at new wishbones perhaps? all track rods are new and where fitted and balanced by Buckley tyres 2 months ago...
-
Not sure on the wishbones, when mine were bad I didnt have any tyre wear issues though.
You will need alignement doing again if you change them anyway
I would start down at buckley - the alignement bit down the lane from the tyre bit and say look at this wear, can you check my geometry.
No where near as good as Wheels in motion sound, but least they are on the doorstep. Saying that though am tempted to take our facelift somewhere better as buckley have never got it quite right, have hugely improved it though.
-
if they tell me geometry is out surley they can't alter it without changing tyre or tyres first? just been looking on mytyres.net and spotted Falken's that look reasonable..
-
well they wont need to change a tyre to change geometry, but probably makes sense to have it done on new tyres rather than old ones

Hello Jimbob.. sorry its taken so long to reply but i lost internet conection. just been to my usual tyre fitting bloke in Holywell who says to ring him back later as to replace each tyre will be around £80. dont like the sound of that!
