well my egr valve is cracked i dont want to blank it off as the engine wont run properly with it blanked off runs the engine runs abit Lean
is the 3.0s egr valve the same as a 2.5 vectra / 2.5 mig? as the local scrappies dont have any 3.0 v6s
-
My 2.5 runs normally, if not better, with the EGR blanked off, I think many people have done this.
Is there a reason you think it runs lean?

blanked it off for a few months and changed spark plugs took a plug out a few days ago and the plug was showing signs of a lean engine and i put the egr back through and changed fuel filter and its not running lean anymore

The mixture should be kept correct by the Lambda loop regardless of the EGR. Bear in mind that unleaded fuel doesn't colour the plugs much at all so I wouldn't regard them as a reliable indicator of mixture.
EGR probably causes a cooler burn under some conditions which might account for the difference in plug colour. I doubt you'll have any trouble if you blank it off.

cheers kevin ill get my plate back on there then!
just seen the okugs were overheated so thought id put it back through
thanks again!

Might be worth keeping an eye out for a replacement EGR valve because in theory it will improve economy slightly but I'd not worry too much about blanking it in the interim.

I would double check the angle of the elctrical connection on the top of the EGR before swapping a Vectra one for an Omega. I aquired a new spare ages ago and when attempting to fit to a friends car, discovered that the wiring was not long enough from the loom to reach. Compared it with a Vectra and they are different...

H21 your right just tried me vectras and its at a 180 degree offset to the migs wiring woul fit but is very stretched so i dont wanna have it like that!! m8 is breaking a 2.5 mig engine so i shall be paying him a visit on tues for some treasure!
