Title: Database of dodgy driving
Post by: macca on 20 October 2007, 12:08:11
Just stumbled across this (http://www.betterdrivingplease.com/aboutus.asp) website.  :)
Seems like a sound idea, but dont know how much weight it's gonna carry with the 'authorities'.
There seems to be a couple of members on there that really need to get out a bit more!  :-?
Did a search on my reg plate and came back with no results.......phew....nobody seen me picking my nose & scratching my backside whilst steering with my knees yet then!  8-)
That privacy blind is doing a grand job!  :P

Just registered. How do you input your own reg to see if there is anything listed?

Matt

:DJust put in my car and truck nos. All clear. I do'nt think it's such a bad idea to name & shame & i think it's quite an interesting site (I'm not an anorak) but what do they hope to achieve? If only the surfing public read the bad reports, the police could'nt prosecute on the sites evidence, so why?
Bet loo knee's punched his reg plate in & i'm sure i saw apost regarding a silver facelift with an illegal front plate being a bit of a menace in Carlisle!!!!!!!!!!! ::)

Sorry, but what a bunch of w*ankers!   most of the reports of from the same sad old set of people and judging by some of the so called offences it is actually THEIR bad driving that causes it.

I wonder how much control they have over their cars while they are frantically writing down a reg number.

And no, I'm not on there  ;D

to be honest, most of them are about petty rubbish, such as number plates incorrectly spaced... seems very pedantic to me.

CHALLENGE!

Who will be first to get their number plate on there. I'm off to do some speeding and a spot of undertaking. :P

its too easy to post any old reg and complaint from anyone you dont like, hence the reason cops cant take action

as stated by a cop (i think), they only take action from mltiple complaints of the same vehicle

I just signed up with Duff details, username of "sadcase" and I reported the number plate:

P155 OFF

With the complaint:

Saw a VX Omega with a web address in the rear window, clearly obstructing the drivers vision behind him.
So I put all my attention into tailgaiting it, and took both hands off the wheel so I could photo it and report it to police. I caused a pile-up in the process, but hey!

I wonder if they'll post that ;D

That website it pathetic, full of losers.

I think this site is a total invasion of privacy, and Are they allowed to store this information in accordance with the DPA?

I think it needs looking into. Maybe a question for citizens advice.

I would be going mad if they had my plate on there. I'd probaly hack it or DoS it....  >:(

What a silly site! I'm all for idiot drivers being punished, but this is just a place for sad snitchers, IMHO.  :(

these are the sort of people that are going to cause accidents, trying to scare you in yellow vests with a camcorder at every bend and no doubt they are the type of drivers who drive around at 10-20 mph less than the speed limit!
