Title: TD rad bleed valve.
Post by: osealy on 20 May 2008, 09:54:42
Is there one? Where is it?
Or do I have to undo a hose to drain rad.

I take it that you want to drain the rad and/or cooling system.

There's a drain-plug at the extreme nearside bottom of the rad.
It's usually a red thumb-screw type, with a screwdriver slot in it.

There's also a drain point on the offside of the cylinder block, that's actually a screwed-in bolt head. It's aft of the turbo.

Be warned, you could get wet - the system holds around two gallons!

yup, TD has a rad drain, and a block drain (one of BMW's few good ideas on this engine).  I try to get a Tunnie to do my block drain, as it makes me laugh when he gets soaked ;D
