how easy is it to change sampling fan?

Easy enough to change but, it wont be the fan, it will be the driver electronics on the main climate PCB.

May be easier to replace panel if you're not good with electronics.  Seem to recall a fair amount of surface mount around that area...

I dont bother repairing as quite clearly there is a design deficiency in the circuit.

I fit a 12V 25mm x 10mm PC fan in its place (requires a little bit of modding)

is that the 25 25 10 mm 1 you can buy from maplins for a fiver?

Thats the bugger!

Remove the old fan adn screw the new fan across the circular opening in the rear plastic cliamte panel moulding where the old fan used to draw air from.

Then connect the two supply wires (blac/red, ignore the third tach wire) to the outer two PCB holes left by the old fan.

Power it up quickly to make sure the fan is sucking and not blowing.

re-assemble and its job done!
