As the title says, how easy is it to remove the differential?? And what is the best/easiest way to do it...with or without drive shafts??

with drive shafts, need spanner 18 to side bolt of diff, alen key 10 or 12 not sure for drive shafts ,propshaft go on 18 or 16 , 1st time about 1 h work

Its not to hard to do. When i done mine i had the use of an air gun though. I would start with the drive shafts at the hub end first, undo the allen bolts (8mm) on both sides then remove the shock lower bolt and move the shock out of the way. At this point i removed the drive shafts from the diff (crow bar between the iner cv joint and diff) Then the prop 3x19mm nuts/bolts. The diff is held on by 2x 18mm bolts at the rear and 1 at the front. I removed the bracket from the diff as it was easier which is 3 e18 torx bolts . Obviously support the diff before undoing the diff mounting bolts (i just used my trolly jack) once all the bolts are out lower the diff and jobs done.
Took about 1/2 hour but that was with air tools.
Hope this makes some sort of sense and helps.

edit If the exhaust is off the car you can leave the drive shafts in (less chance of spilling diff oil everwhere)
