Hi, followed the how to guides on the forum and read off fault code.
It was...
89 O2 Sensor 2 Open Circuit. Only thing i can think of is a lambda probe/oxygen sensor on the down pipe. I am most likey wrong but would appreciate advice off anyone that would know please? Also is that code if it is as I think specific to either of the sensors.
Thanks, Jez

As well as the code issue, is there anyone with Tech2 in Birmingham area who could check for other issues as with rest of car as well please? Car also has a Gearbox fault. Fluid levels ok & selector swicth seem to be behaving ok. Would refund costs & bung on a few quid for a drink for anyone who can assist. Thanks

It does sudgest an O2 sensor fault, sensor number 2 is the passenger side (2-4-6 bank)
Do check its plugged in properly and examine the wiring around the sensor and gearbox for damage.

Thanks Mark, I shall have a look tomorrow as the weather had turned wet.
Will also examine the selector switch woring whilst I am there.
Anyone help with the Tech 2? ;)

Somebody must know of someone local with one please? ;)

Birmingham is a big place, you would need to be a bit more specific about where!

Erdington/North

The best I can offer is a 1 hour drive up the M42.....to south Nottingham
-
Thanks Mark. The reason for tech 2 request is due to the car flagging an autobox fault on the MID. Oil level is ok but I dont really want to risk an hours drive without knowing what the chances of causing terminal damage is. If no other offers are forthcoming very soon I will contact you if that is ok?
Many thanks, Jez

Hi again, follow up on the code 89 issue. I have taken a pic of the oxygen sensor. Am after opinions on whether the damage shown would be enough to render if knackered & warrant replacement.

Hello again. Had the gearbos ECU read today interesting result. Trouble coded P1850 present. Shift solenoid C open circuit. Diagnosis is defective ECU as it drives fine when cold or a damaged wire. But the fact fault occurs when warn leads to then ECU. To top it all I can locate a million & 1 of them on ebay, just not the one I want...typical lol. For anyone that has one the numbers are 96041456, ident CK.
