the boy has got to be the guy to ask, if new battery dont help you. Sorted me out a new blade and transponder for a tena! Get a fob from ebay and a lock smith to cut the blade to match your old one. Is what he told me! My car only came with one key so he wiped all codes bar myn and prog.d the new blade/chip.
If he cant fix yours, then there u go.
Vx quoted 80 sobs AND 45 for tech 2 to prog. it. Bunch of (insert your best expleteives here) they are. But then we all know what they r like, and we would not be here if they where any good would we!
 Ok, finished now.

I had the same problem on my remotes and was for ever resetting the bloody things untill i got fed up and replaced them. since then no problems so the fault is the remotes showing there age and not the cars systems.

It could well be that the solder joints for the battery in the fob have cracked or you have a dry joint
Careful re-soldering solved my similar problems & that of many other forum members
P.S use a decent soldering iron not a gas powered one

As suggested above, touch up the battery joints...
