Title: Omega 2.2 Timing belt Cover

Hi all .... does anyone know where i can get one of these at a reasonable price ... had my timing belt done today and they say mine is cracked .... the price they wanted for a new one was in 3 figures  ;D

A cracked cam belt cover is IMHO nothing to worry about. It's not as though it's to be water & oil tight, it's mainly just to stop you from poking fingers etc in there. You could try Araldite on the inside or maybe 'weld' it with a hot soldering iron.
If I really want a 'new' cover I'd be making a trip to the local scrap yard if a new cover is silly money.

I'd try a breaker: probably a few 2.2s now being broken

I'd also have a good look at the cover:  there is a good chance that the crack is fresh, down to some ham fisted mechanic cracking it when getting it off.

 Funny you should say that ... i had the same kinda thought  :-/

Bit of gaffer tape over the crack until you have sourced a replacement will hold it together and stop excessive dust getting in...
