Title: buying omega 2.0gls

hi, im looking at buying an omega 2.0gls on a w plate, test drive was lovely apart from a ticking/tapping noise from what seemed to be top of engine, when revved noise was faster but not louder . can anyone help me to what this could be or am i lokking at a big problem

I would think it's the valve lifters that is causing the ticking. How does the engine run? How much oil is in (check dipstick)?
