When starting I have a wirring noise coming from the right handside behind the front bumber. Any ideas of what it could be and how to shut it up?
Thanks

Secondary Air Injection pump on its way out...replace it generally works :)

Surely you mean the left site (passenger side)? That should be the blower unit that is part of the emissions system.
Apparently they get noisy - like mine is presently. They can also be unplugged and condemmed with no adverse effects..

Instead of replacing like suggested just unplug the connection on the pump :y

yep i ment left hand side, i was thinking while looking under the bonnet. so i can just unplug it rather then replace it then?

blower unit aka its more technical name of secondary air injection pump! it helps to heat up the cats a bit quicker on startup and then turns off...yes it can just be unplugged, slightly less environment friendly but wont affect things too much...

Thats the plan. Think that i will unplug mine tomorrow :y

Gunna unplug mine tomorrow aswell. save waking the neighbours up every morning.

Very Easy, on the passengers side just behind the front bumper. Turn the wheels to full lock towards the passenger side. Just behind the black plastic covering thingy you will see something that looks like a turbo. On that will be a conector, unplug that and your sorted. Of course you could get it up on a lift or ramps and it would be easier but i found it easy enough doing it as described above
