Title: rogue pipe !
Post by: bth2bth2 on 11 June 2008, 14:17:52
hi all,
i'm doing my cam cover gaskets cos it was p******g oil out.the gaskets have hardened .
after i removed the injector body i noticed a pipe i didnt think id disconected..mmmm
its about 12mm dia,a plastic pipe similar to the vac pipe removed from the plenum.its tied up to the breather pipe that branches into two.it runs down the rear of the engine somewhere.looking in the end of the pipe it doesnt look like it was conected to anything before, its dusty inside and no marks like its been pulled off anything.
hope my discription was ok.id put a picture in if i knew how.
thanking you all in anticipation. ::)

Hi Brian

It sounds like the gearbox breather pipe. I take it yours is an Auto.

Automatic gearbox breather, by the souind of it. Everyone does the same thing first time round. It's not supposed to be conencted to anything, just cable tied up there and bent over so no junk falls into it.
