Title: SAI system...
Post by: Vaughan on 07 June 2008, 18:15:47
I'm having abit of trouble with the SAI, can I remove this system completely and will it affect anything once removed?

I am thinking that with all the pipework for this out the way, cambelt changes might be a little easier :-)

Ive removed mine and blocked the hoses either side and disconnected the pump under the wing. It runs fine :y

You need to keep the solenoid in place to keep ecu happy. Obviously any open pipes need to be blocked as well.

Thanks for the replies. I asume I can "unscrew" the pipes from the manifolds and blank them with a short bolt with the same thread. What are the thread sizes I should get hold of?

TheBoy, do you mean the EGR solenoid?

No, the solenoid if for SAI. Sits near rad/battery, has vac pipes going to it. If you follow pipes from SAI pump, you'll see it :)

Is there a fuse for the SAI I can remove for the time being, until I can get under it to remove the system?
