just had a look at the air filter, needs replacing. About how much should i pay for a new one. Are pattern parts o.k. Thanks. 2.6v6

Genuine is 14+vat retail and much less trade club.

How would you know if your air filter needs replacing?? I have no idea how old mine is, but, it looks clean.

Its black all the way through , not just on the edges,and full of deceased wasps.

I have just replaced the one in project EP4 with a genuine one. The filter that was in the car was a Halfords one and was half the thickness.

Umm tasty!! Think mine may be ok then. No dark colouring, just nice bright yellow.  :)

The halfords ones are pretty poor in comparison to Vx ones.

I think service interval is 2yrs, but I tend to change mine annually.

Service interval is every year, it's the carbon filter in the air con that's every 2 years.
