I've searched and looked and searched again :(
I was sure I read a "how to" on replacing HBV's .. but I'm damned if I can find it ... anyone any clues please ?? :)

Doesn't really need one, but feel free when you do that one ;)
Drain coolant. Scuttle off. Clip old one, put new one in. Scuttle back on. Refill coolant.

and then get the plasters and antiseptic out to take care of the gouges in your hands/wrists and arms

It is very fiddly, and the clips are a git sometimes (due to space)

yes, for that i have invested in a set of very long nose pliers, the nose is 4 inch long, they are brilliant for the spring clips

too true!
but as always once you have done it it doesn't feel so bad.

Bah! Facelift 2.6, I've got the scuttle off, I'm just really struggling getting the clips off. Any top tips? Just a good length pair of long pliers?
ETA: I've photo'd it bit by bit, so as to do an abridged how-to, making no mention of the amount of swearing I've done...

I bought the real thing for the clips. No difference. I also bought a dinky little mole wrench and that's the business for those clips in hard to reach places.

Bah. I've weighed up price of buying a tool and skin graft, vs getting my mechanic to do it, he'll be doing it tomorrow. :y
