Title: front wheels
Post by: mikey.s on 24 June 2008, 20:58:30
Not sure if this is a problem ?
I drive a 2000 facelift elite 2.5
When you look at the front wheels the n/s wheel seems to sit in at the top and the o/s wheel seems to sit straight up and down is it just me or is it ment to be like this ? Have recently fitted new wishbones cant see anything broken . Would appreciate any help cheers    :-/

Camber angle correct on both sides? It's adjustable.

Have you had a FULL geometry check done since changing the wishbones ??

Always worth it or you will wreck tyres extremely quickly, sounds to be like your camber settings are out - they may well have been "adjusted" to compenstae for the old and knackered wishbones .. and now with new ones they need proper resetting...

And it is a FULL geometry you need .. not a simple tracking check

If I can jump in here - my Omega has a benign foul between the inside tyrewall and the strut which is a little noisy but not dangerous - well, not yet anyway - and having seen here that the camber is adjustable I'd ask if this is a job any garage could do or if it's one for the dealer only.  My front wheels certainly need taking a couple of degrees away from the slightly dramatic - looking negative camber they are in right now.  Hopefully it's not horrendously expensive either!  :-[
