Post by: vrba on 26 June 2008, 18:04:38
hi,
today i had my AC refilled (filled) but compressor now sounds strange. it doesn't work all the time he switch on and off suddenly and when i throttle up and than remove my fut of the pedal it sounds like the pop off valve.

anyone know what this can be, is compressor going out on me?

Hi,
Yup, it sounds like it's been overfilled. I would ask them to evac and check again what they put back in. It should only be about 900 to 950 grammes of refrigerant.

the correct info should be printed on a sticker in the engine bay. Have a look on the cover over the radiator. I think its on there somewhere. Also should be a sticker given by an a/c engineer if its had a die added to check for leaks, but this rarely happens . Its supposed to stop 2 lots being added as this can thin the oil and bugger the pump, or something. So my ac man told me.
Hope helps.

thx only problem is that i don't have this radiator cover as it was broken :(. so can i count on this 900-950 mili what the guys put in above

and what about the pressure in the system, is this measured in BAR (PSI) or in this milis?

not sure on pressure, sounds like you need a more qualifyed ac man to me. He should know all this stuff, dont let him mess with it if he does not know what he is doing. It could cost you a fortune in the long run. Ignore the mills post i was refering to the amount of liquid or gas. Hopefully someone on here more knowing than me will be able to help you. Sorry cant help further.
