hi everybody. can anyone recommend a cheap fault code reader 2.2 petrol and does it need a cam lock kit to change cambelt it looks easier than the v6 are these engines any good thankyou.

Yes you need a camlock tool. Draper and sealey do one for about £5.00 so not worth trying without one.

try this, works on my auto 3.2, but only works on some cars,(fill in your profile, we can tell what car you have then) you may be lucky. Get in and press brake and gas pedal to the floor then turn on ignition fully WITHOUT firing the engine. On my the car symbol with a spanner through it will flash out the codes for you..
