hi all
i have a 52 reg 2.2cd omega,i've just bought a tow bar/electrics online but would like some advice on fitting electrics,while running the cable into the boot i noticed a electrical fitting.
is it easy to fit the 7 core cable and audible sensor to the vehicle harness or sould i buy a connector?
please can anyone help. :-?

i don't know to much about tow bar electrics but there are kits for specific cars that allow the light bulb out warnings they plug in line with the existing lights and prevent any overloads if you want reversing lights you will need double electrics you will need a fused live supply. if you wish to run a fridge on the move and a split charger if you wish to charge extra leasure batterys. I don't know if this information is helpfull or confusing hope it helps.

Interested to see what other advice is as I might be thinking of fitting a tow bar to my saloon. Which towabar did you buy and (if it's not too rude a question) how much was it. I have heard of ones that are detachable and invisible when detatched - but it bet there in the £100's

I put a Witter bar on my Estate with an aftermarket wiring loom. It plugged straight into the Vauxhall connector via a relay/box of tricks and provides S & N sockets. It only needed one screw in the boot for a couple of earth wires & another to hold the electrical boxes. No bumper cutting but it's not a removable one. I didn't fancy installing park distance sensors so having a towbar is next best ;)

Just be aware that if you use the socket in the boot of your car for all the outputs, your won't brake lights won't work unless you either fit the Trailer Bulb Failure 'relay' that lives above PRE face lift driver's feet or behind face lift car's glove boxes or bridge the connections in the 'relay' base. yellow/black wires IIRC
Re audible sensors/buzzers. It's a lot easier to fit a lamp in the dash & swap the 3 pin flasher relay for a 4 pin version - less annoying too! ;)
