Title: Sump pan
Post by: arthill on 07 July 2008, 18:05:04
Hi all.

Recently I posted on here reguarding oil seeping through sump pan, it was suguested that a new pan would cost around £20, I went to dealer today and was quoted £100 + vat. Has anyone had experience of replacing sump, should second hand be alright bearing in mind my omega is only five year old ?, Is this a dealer only part or is it available from motor factors.?? I was wondering if older cars have sumps made of harder steel and if so would they fit my 2.2 :question

Should be an easy enought job whatever route you go for replacement....

Drain the oil, drop the bolts and whilst your there clean the pick up etc. Upon replacing it you will need vx sealant i believe.

And dont forget nice new vx oil when the new one is on  :y
