Title: Sparkplug oiling up....GLS 2.0 Petrol
Post by: gerrycity on 08 July 2008, 07:03:16
My rear sparkplug is oiling up and causing poor ignition......once the revs have increased the car appears to run ok...however i have noticed that the idle is not as smooth as normal.....the plug is the one nearest the bulkhead.....

Any suggestions or remedies?

Many thanks.

Gerry.

Do you mean that plug is oiled up when you remove it from the engine, or is there oil lying in the plug well. If the latter your cam cover gasket is leaking and you will need to replace it and clean the breather system thoroughly to prevent the problem recurring.
There are maintenance guides in the appropriate section, and you should try to obtain genuine Vx parts using the trade club card. This can either be borrowed or obtained through joining Autobahnstormers.
Others will probably give you links for these. I'm afraid I'm not clever enough.
