Title: Caravan
Post by: Golfbuddy on 24 October 2007, 20:46:49
Someone posted, a little while ago, that they wanted a caravan section. Well, I've recently found a new forum that is crying out for members that could be right up our street.

You can find it here (http://www.easycampsite.com/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=21).

I must point out that I have no connection at all with this site and that I don't know any of the members, of which there are currently 7 including me. It just seems like a good opportunity to join a new forum and be part of something from the start.

Maybe see some of you there and we can keep our dark little secret to ourselves.  ;D ;D ;D

 :y

p.s. Admins, hope this is OK.

This site has some good stuff on it ... also has some very self-opinionated folks who don't know when to shut up !!

Main good thing is that one manufacturer - Swift Group - has staff actually reading and answering questions directly ... AFAIK this has never happened before !!  Be a bit like Vauxhall answering our questions here .. now thats going to happen isn't it !!

http://www.caravantalk.org.uk

(also hope the Admin staff have no objections  :)  )

Signing up to the new site now  :)

I joined there a little while ago and I agree with you, it does have some very opinionated contributors which does tend to detract from the enjoyment of contributing. If there was a forum with the atmosphere of OOF which focussed on caravans that would be perfect.

See you there.  :y

Golfbuddy you are havin a laugh aren't ya??
I had a caravan for 5-6 years and had some great holidays, but, we had one as it was cheap holidays when the girls were really small.
I can understand people getting attached to a dog, cat and even a car mate but not a caravan ;D

After my lot have been living in it for three weeks you only have to touch something to get attached to it. Bloody sticky everywhere.  ;D ;D ;D

I think you get attached to the "way of living" rather than the actual 'van .. we change our 'van every 2 years, and use it about 30 weekends + 3 weeks holiday a year !!  :)

I've just left that site .. the main posters .. 1/2 a dozen or so .. just can't bear anyone disagreeing wth them.. as you say .. deleivery charges thread and the servicing charges thread ... you'll probably recognise one name standing against the whinging throng... and getting insulted for doing so ...

Can no longer be bothered to try ... I have better things to do with my life :)

I know. That's the problem with most if not all of these caravan forums. Perhaps they should get out a bit more. In fact perhaps that's the problem; too much fresh air has got to their sense of humour.

I just thought it would be a good idea for the members on here to guide this forum in a more level headed direction.

Maybe see you there, and this time you can spell your name right.  ;D ;D

I am actually a biker myself :y :y

Been looking at a suzuki bandit that our local bike dealer has for sale, not sure what to do, i fancy a honda.
Not happy about using the miggy to get to work each day due to the parking conditions on site, my beloved paint work is getting to dirty.

Get a push bike and keep fit its only 6 miles each way you said  :y

You're right. There are plenty of pretentious asses in the caravan world, but Mrs shyboy and I are enthusiasts of many years standing. And how else can I afford to run an Omega! ;D
