Title: Engine not stop Part 2
Post by: andyiow on 12 July 2008, 21:46:35
Right new ignition switch fitted after a little accident in taking the old one off as it does not seem to come apart that easily. Alarm sounder disconnected so its a bit quieter for the neighbour.

Reconnected everything and ignition lights still on whilst keys out. Reset alarm as per vauxhall techs method just for piece of mind. In car discussing reason why lights still on when notice a plume of smoke comming from AC control area. Disconnected battery and investigated cause of smoke.

Found to be a rather large resisitor broken. Removed and disconnected AC panel. Used the paper clip test and noticed that the ignition lights all go out when ignition switched off. No reported fault I believe as there was only 1 then 2 flashes repeatedly.

So I believe the cause of my problem is the AC board so now I need  to find another board to check my conclusions. Any ideas on a rough price for this item would help thanks.

The ignition lights go off as you would now expect when the ignition is turned off.

Markey Mark, can you send me your address so I can send the money to you for the board. Many thanks.
