Title: LPG first start...how long for gas to get through
Post by: philhoward on 13 July 2008, 14:13:55
Pretty much as it says, really!

Finished the wiring today and thought i'd try it out.

Started up, and after the Lambda warmup time, light start flashing on the button, ready for gas.  Over 2000rpm, and on deccel i hear the solenoids going..at which point it stalls.

The tank is about 3/4 full, but wondering how long it takes to get through first time?

Laptop battery just died and i left the charger at work, so can't play with the software any more..

It's an Autronic 820 system, which said i should wire all 3 solenoids together - hence they all come in at the same time.  Sure my dad's Range Rover has the tank one just with ignition, and the two up front just coming on when on gas..

My V6, and Marie's 2.0 were both instant.

My 2.0 took a fair few attempts

Have you got all the right settings for the sensors in the software?

Is the manual valve open on the tank?

A good trick is to run  it on petrol and run the autocalibration, it will fire in the LPG injectors one by one (asssuming this is a stag kit)

Edit - just re-read it's not a Stag kit.

Rest of the advice still applies though.

My solenoids are wired in parallel, they all open together.

It will idle very nicely, but not much more than that at the moment - 1500rpm and thats it...  Will have to postpone till I get my laptop charged back up for starters - can't remember how many of the settings I manged to do before the battery died...
