Title: TC LIGHT AND TEMP GAUGE
Post by: LFF64 on 14 July 2008, 15:50:42
Right I am beginning to get fed up with this happening now so have just done a paper clip test engine off ignition on and have got codes 12 49 31 12
49 is battery high voltage could this be the cause of problem  :question

sorry  I meant to ask should I try the paper clip test with the engine running as well as with just ign on . I  have not had the EML at all although the abs did come on too once over the week end at the same time  :exclamation

Either....

Stick a meter on battery and rev to 2.5k rpm

or

pop it over one day

I suspect the TC light might not be good news :(

The TC light keeps coming on and the temp gauge goes to max and the red high temp lights up at the same time its not all the time and usually goes out if the engine is stopped and restarted althought it does sometimes stop the engine restarting I have not found anything so far the paper clip showed up the fault 49 but nothing else out of the ordinary

initial reaction is rubar regulator, buy measure first

Thats not that bad if its just that but I have a horrible feeling it is not that simple  ::) if  I get a problem its usualy something no one else has ever come across  ::)  I will stick a meter across the battery and see what I get  :y

Checked voltages at battery today and nothing at all apprarenlty wrong ,all as  I would expect I did notice that this morning when it happened the climate (fans) all shut down too . Something very strange happening I think  ::)
