Title: Noisy Air Conditioning Fan
Post by: ErithEagle on 05 June 2008, 21:01:02
I had the air conditioning re-gassed on my Omega recently, as it had no gas at all in it!

It's lovely & cold now it's done, but there is a slight problem in that the two fans at the front for the air con work OK, the nearside one runs perfectly & quietly, stops when the air con is switched off.  The other one is V noisy!, stays on for ages after either the engine is switched off or the the air con is turned off.

Could it be that this fan needs replacing, bearing gone?

With it being a 3.2, my son says it soumds like an aeroplane!!! ;D

Any ideas??

Update on this problem now, on having it looked at by Vauxhall, it turns out that it's a faulty relay that causing teh fan to stay on & be noisy.  Replaced at cost of £56.00 inc VAT

Ouch! 56 quid for a relay. :o

Glad to hear they managed to diagnose it though.
