After a major mess up with my local parts dept, when they managed to twice order the incorrect thermostat housing and casing, can anybody tell me what is the correct price for 90502201,or would I be safe buying after market,as I am now excluded from my local VX dealers due to a "slight disagrement"which esculated into ..well I am sure you can guess.!!

Oh Dear ;D
Not sure if there are aftermarket parts in this area :-/ but as with most i`d steer clear and go for Gen VX...
Housing comes with the stat - or did last time i bought it, and the long transfer pipe comes seperate.
Sure the stat/ housing was about £20 odd and the long transfer pipe about £15...Not at home so cant 100% check :-/
Maybe someone local can go get one for you.....

Markie..if my memory is correct during the "exchange of banter"in the parts dept the figure of £43=00 for the stat and housing comes to mind, but I did suggest that ..well ..."they can sit on that and rotate".
I did look at the fleabay part but was unsure if to risk as not Genuine...£25 ish sounds more realistic though.

43 (retail) sounds about right to me (and to be fair reasonable compared to a 25 quid aftermarket part). I understand aftermarket is OK - don't go to Halfords though - the one they stock for the 2.5 is actually the 2L one.
