Just failed mot on hole in the rh central box :'( (from the noise when driving home the hole was definately a lot bigger than on the way to the mot..)
So a couple of questions:
for a cat back system
- is there a gasket or sealing compound needed between the flanges at the front (that mate with the cat section)?
- assuming the bolts at the front shear, what size replacements do I need?
- is it better to assemble the 3 sections on the ground and then lift into place, or front sections first and then the back box?
Cheers

to answer your questions:
1- no sealing compound that I know of. I guess exhaust cemet will not hurt
2 - soak the bolts in plus gas for two or three nights in a row. Apply heat as well. if they shear then drill them out and replace with nut and bolt
3- thereis plenty of jiggling room to assemble on the car. lifting all three bits together will be heavy.

Could you buy the bits and persuade your local exhaust place to fit them?
I am not rich, but £25 would be cheap as chips for getting someone else to take that pain...
