Hi, can anyone tell me where it lives and what it is like to change please.
The engine is running hot and the only way to keep the temp. down is by putting the heater on full, my suspicion is that the thermostat is stuck closed as the radiator does not get warm at all.
Thanks

It lives on the front of the engine tangled behind the drive belts. It isn't too bad to change but I had the belts off mine at the time.
Turned out mine was fine - so I have a genuine Vx one for sale...

Thanks, I have just changed the waterpump....... that lives in the same place then ::)
Just bled some air from the system and it seems fine now, any idea where the air could be coming from as this is the third time I've had to do it since changing the pump. Headgasket is ok, it's been checked.

If the tractor engine is anything like the V6 it is a B*****d to get all the air out.. lots of "burping" of the hoses with the cap off, engine running, max heat on the heater and a really warm/hot engine seems to work eventually.. but can take a few days to settle down IME

TD is quite good at self bleeding. Stat is next to waterpump - do all same to remove viscous as per waterpump. Then 3 bolts. Very quick and easy.
