Title: High Pitched Whine
Post by: carper on 16 July 2008, 19:54:17
Any info to the following much appreciated. Upon start up from cold, I'm hearing a high pitched whine/whistle noise for about a minute or so whilst ticking over, could anyone shed any light  :question

Pretty normal and should go off after a minute or so.

Its secondry air injection valve and is meant to help cats warm up quicker ( i think)

Secondary Air Injection Pump as said, but whine means its on its way out...unplug it if it annoys you or get a replacement...

What they said  ::)

I have the same problem -- sounds like I am warming up for take off -- but soon stops.

One day I will replace the pump --- but I do kinda like the noise !!!
