Title: Air Con Help - Offered
Post by: mike213735 on 19 July 2008, 17:38:32
Hi,

Just had my air serviced and regassed by Cool Car Air Con. Well recommended!!!

The chap that did my car is based in Burghfield Common, but they are part of a franchise.

Anyone in the south, that needs an aircon service/test/regas should call Steve or Sally Bryan on 0845 388 2319 or visit their website at http://www.coolcaraircon.co.uk and tell them I sent you, then maybe I'll get a free regas next time  ;)

Thanks
Mike

I think mike had his regassed and checked for any leaks. You say yours is kaput, do you mean it doesn't work at all or it doesn't blow out cold air?

Nothing. seems warmer than 18 if anything! Took to be checked and re-gassed when I got it (kwik fit) they said it needs some attention. Just have not put it high on the list of priorities as wanting to sort the two migs mechanically and asthetically first.  :y :y

Kwik Fit you used kwik fit cowboys they don't know what there talking about, they done mine twice and still no gas inside of the system took it to a friend and he pressure tested it then refilled with 950kg worth of refrigerant. Your best bet would be to get a home visit from cool air con and from what Mike was telling me is if they find a fault you can go ahead and get it repaired or they will repair it plus a refill of gas, if you don't want to go ahead they charge you just £35 i think thats it.

That's the recommended refill amount according to the manufacture's specifications, so not alot really.

Try 950g.
At 950kg your steering could be a tad heavy ;)

Kevin,

They came out to my house, pressure tested the system, used a pump to clear out any moisture in the system, regassed it and the charge was £69.33, which I thought was pretty good for a professional job :)

Thanks
Mike
