jump start and try battery again after a 20 min with engine at idle and no load 13.5v and at 2000rpm 13.5v
Put rear window, all lights on , fans on -load at idle 12.8v and at 2000rpm 12.9v
Any quesses at to which it is bearing in mind that Battery is18 months old and alternator 14months
removing battery without alarm going off I am correct
Ignition on and off then 15secs to undo at least one battery terminal

Alternator probably ok from those voltages. Check battery leads and connections for high temperature, or measure voltage at alternator, could be high resistance joint.
Is there any current draw when shutdown? If none of these, battery is suspect.

I would expect to see 14v out of the alternator although it's clearly doing something. As said, check the connections for any warmth indicating excessive resistance.

Interesting, when I was suffering battery drain on my 2.2, MarksDTM found that the relay controlling the aux socket in the back was permanently on, pulling about 300 - 400 ma.
Worth checking the relay, a quick check feel them and see if any are warm.
