I would think so. The whole car only weighs 1700kg - at the most
Are you a member of Costco? I was in the Oldham branch last week (it cost me £300 for dishwasher tablets & a few meat joints! ;)) and they had a Draper hoist for £117. I can't think of a good enough excuse to justify buying one. ;D ;D ;D :y

excellent thanks guys

Yup, its lighter than the TD lump, and I've done the TD with AR35 autobox attached with a Clarke/Machinemart 1t hoist

A quick surf sees a number of different V6 engines weigh in at 150+ kg so this is a good answer. Double that for the gearbox. Double again for sticky moments trying to get the mountings lined up. And your 1t ton crane looks good to go. Just don't get the front wheels off the ground with it...

Pulled out a few engines now with my 1T engine hoist...only thing that has broken to date is the tow rope I used to lift it out as it started to fray...so got a 4t rope now :)
